Rep. JoAnne Stehr, representing Northumberland and Schuylkill, is collaborating with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts and Humanities to offer a six-week course on the U.S. Constitution. The course, provided by the Patriot Academy, aims to educate citizens about the nation's founding documents and how to preserve these freedoms for future generations.

"As citizens of this great nation, we have a responsibility to nurture and protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans," said Stehr. "Every day we live as free people is because of the work of our Founding Fathers. I encourage people to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about our Constitution and our nation’s history."

The course will commence on Thursday, September 7, continuing each Thursday until October 12. Classes will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Northumberland County CareerLink in Shamokin. Although participation is free, registration is necessary by contacting Stehr's office or signing up online.
