Rep. Doyle Heffley and Sen. Dave Argall will be co-hosting a seminar focused on educating older residents about financial scams. The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, in Lehighton, and will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church at 1349 Green St., beginning at 10 a.m. This seminar is open to the public and is free of charge.

Heffley, representing the Republican party from Carbon County, emphasized the frequency of new financial fraud schemes. “It seems new schemes to steal our money are popping up all the time, making it difficult to stay ahead of the scammers,” he stated. He encouraged those worried about falling victim to fraud, especially among seniors, to attend the event, noting the value of the information that will be provided.

The session will be led by David Shallcross, director of senior protection with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, who will deliver insights into the latest fraud attempts targeting seniors and the general public.

For further details regarding the scam seminar, individuals can contact 610-377-6363. Representative Doyle Heffley can be reached through his media contact Huntre Keip at 717-772-9837, or via email at hkeip@pahousegop.com.
