State Representatives Michael Stender and Joanne Stehr have announced that the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) has granted $4,000 to the Northumberland County Historical Society. This funding comes from PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Grant Program, which aims to support museums and historical societies in Pennsylvania that do not receive direct aid from other state programs.

Representative Joanne Stehr expressed her satisfaction with the grant, stating, “I’m thrilled the Northumberland County Historical Society’s has been awarded this generous grant. The additional funding will help this remarkable organization preserve and highlight the rich history of our community.” She emphasized the importance of preserving local heritage for future generations.

Michael Stender also highlighted the significance of the grant: “The Northumberland County Historical Society is a leading source in understanding the local historical value of our community. This grant not only preserves our roots but also plant seeds for a future where the echoes of our heritage resonate with strength and purpose.”

Grants were distributed to 158 organizations across 58 counties in Pennsylvania, determined by a formula based on each organization's annual operating budget.
