Tremont Township has received a $93,662 grant aimed at upgrading traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Main Street (Route 209) and Rausch Creek Road. The announcement was made by Rep. JoAnne Stehr, who represents Northumberland and Schuylkill.

Stehr emphasized the importance of effective traffic signals for the safety of all road users, stating, "For the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians alike, it is important to have effective traffic signals in place across our communities." She also expressed her support for the investment in local infrastructure: "I applaud this investment in our community."

The funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Green Light-Go program. This initiative provides financial reimbursement to municipalities seeking to enhance the efficiency and functionality of their existing traffic signal systems.
