Rep. Joanne Stehr has announced the allocation of $379,000 in grant funding to the Ralpho Township Library in Northumberland County. The funds, sourced from the Multi-Purpose Community Facilities Program, will be used to develop a multi-purpose community space within the library. This initiative aims to enhance the library's capacity to serve residents by providing a venue for various community events and activities.
"The Ralpho Township Library is an essential part of our community," said Stehr. "This new multi-purpose space will increase its value by offering a place for residents to gather, learn and connect. This project will strengthen our community and improve access to important resources."
The grant will support the library in expanding its services and creating a flexible area that can meet diverse community needs. This development is expected to reinforce the library's position as a central hub in Ralpho Township and nearby regions.
The grant program provides $45 million in competitive grants to community anchor institutions and local government units for projects aimed at constructing, acquiring, or improving facilities open to the public. These projects are intended to facilitate work, education, and health monitoring at their respective locations.
