The STEM Garden, established by 7th grade students on the Mohawk Team in 2019, is rooted in the spirit of community and giving. Located behind NPI, the garden thrives thanks to many helping hands. The seeds and starter plants that yielded this year's crops were donated by Jason Toy, owner of the Moscow Agway. Mohawk students opened the garden in the spring under the guidance of Mrs. Liz Biesecker and Penn State University Master Gardener, Mrs. Judy Coleman. Elementary students in Mrs. Smacchi's extended school year class tended to the garden over the summer. The Mohawk and Delaware students in Mrs. Farr and Mrs. Czachor's classes resumed the caretaking responsibilities of the garden at the start of the school year. The crops that were harvested have been donated to the North Pocono food pantry.
