Marian Catholic High School recently issued the following announcement.

Marian Catholic Welcomes Damian Fritz, New Girls Head Basketball Coach

Marian Catholic High School is excited to announce Mr. Damian Fritz as the new Head Coach for the Girls’ Basketball team. Fritz will replace legendary head coach Paul Brutto, who announced his retirement in early July. Coach Fritz brings over 20 years of coaching experience, including stints as the Head Coach of Lehighton and Jim Thorpe’s boys’ programs. For the past seven seasons, he has been a member of the Marian Catholic Boys’ basketball program, serving as an assistant coach.

In addition to his coaching experience, Coach Fritz and his family have been a fixture at Marian Catholic over the past seven years. He and his wife Kristin have four children including sons, Tyler, a 2020 graduate of MCHS, the school’s all-time leading basketball scorer, and Logan, a rising senior on the Colts basketball team, along with two daughters Ava, an incoming freshman and Addison, who is in 8th grade.

The Marian Catholic administration is thrilled to welcome Coach Fritz to the girls’ basketball program. The administration feels that Mr. Fritz will be the right coach to continue to the legacy and tradition of Marian Catholic Fillies basketball program that has been so successful under the leadership of Paul Brutto for the last few decades. Coach Fritz is familiar with values of faith, family, and tradition that Marian Catholic stands for, and we are excited for him to be the next coach of the Marian Coach Fillies.
