House GOP to hold hearing on Pennsylvania’s drug crisis

The House Republican Policy Committee will hold a hearing to address Pennsylvania's ongoing drug crisis. The event, titled “A State Lost in Addiction: Pennsylvania’s Path to Recovery,” aims to discuss the drug epidemic, particularly focusing on the severe impacts of fentanyl and xylazine. The hearing will also explore various strategies being implemented to combat the drug issue in the state.

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Joshua D. Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) and Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) will host the session alongside other lawmakers. Participants include members of the recovery community, law enforcement officials, and healthcare professionals.

The hearing is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23, at 9 a.m., in Room 418 of the House Republican Caucus Room at the State Capitol in Harrisburg. The event will be livestreamed online pending any technical issues.
