WEISSPORT – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) has announced the upcoming Sportsmen’s and Outdoor Expo in Jim Thorpe. The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Co. #1, 1387 State Route 903, will showcase over 30 exhibitors and offer door prizes.
Highlighting the diverse outdoor recreational opportunities in Carbon County, Heffley expressed his enthusiasm for the expo, stating, "Carbon County has so many outdoor recreational activities for families, so this expo serves as an awesome opportunity for folks to learn more about what our area has to offer."
The expo will kick off with a hunter/trapper education course sponsored by the Pennsylvania Game Commission at 7 a.m. The course, designed for first-time hunters and children aged 11 and up, covers topics such as responsible hunting behavior, firearm safety, wildlife and conservation management, and hunting techniques. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to the course.
