NPH Student Recognition

Dylan Guzman is the son of Ricardo and Holly Guzman. He has taken advantage of the accelerated and AP classes in the past 3 and a half years at North Pocono High School. This year Dylan is taking AP Statistics!

Dylan has attended CTC for electrical construction since his sophomore year. Through CTC’s co-op program Dylan works at Signature Building Systems as an electrician. Dylan plans to join the electrical union after graduation. Dylan has participated in football and track, and attends the University of Scranton’s success program. This program requires meeting monthly with University of Scranton Representatives and the other members of the program.  Dylan feels that this program has helped expand his view of opportunities post graduation.

Dylan has participated in the high school’s variety show since freshman year performing covers of songs on his guitar.

James Lucia is the son of Katie Burnett. James has spent his two years at CTCLC working in Digital Communications with his teacher Mr. Georgetti. James feels with his teachers' help; his skills have improved greatly.  James has decided to take advantage of all of what North Pocono has to offer by replacing his only study hall with AP Statistics. He has made high honors throughout this year and has made perfect attendance throughout his years at CTC and North Pocono. James achieved a silver medal for t-shirt design in SkillsUSA. Outside of school, James is an involved member with the Moscow United Methodist Church and frequently helps the church with events and activities. He has two jobs; one as a cart clerk for Bills ShopRite and another as a small cook for a bar called Chesiks. James plans to continue his education in Digital Communication and Design by attending Marywood University.

Patrick Slowik is the son of Michelle and Michael Slowik.  Patrick has excelled in the Building Mechanics Trade program at CTC.  He has a 3.8 GPA.  Patrick also has a 3.45 GPA at North Pocono.  Patrick is a member at Covington Fitness gym and takes his physical fitness seriously.  He is at the gym by 5:30 every morning and again most evenings after work.  Patrick lettered in Varsity Lacrosse last year playing for North Pocono.  He is also a member of the Covington Volunteer Fire Department for the last 3 years.  He is certified in CPR and First Aid.  He is pursuing additional certifications in Emergency Vehicle Operations, Firefighter I and HAZMAT Operations.  In addition to responding to emergencies, Patrick spends a lot of time training and helping the department with fundraising throughout the year.  Patrick works for JPE Landscaping after school and for DB Contracting during Summer break.  He will be taking advantage of CTC’s co-op opportunities to continue to work in construction.  Patrick participated in Skills USA and placed 3rd.  He will be attending the State competition in Hershey as a judge.  In his free time, Patrick enjoys hunting and fishing.  Patrick plans on continuing in construction after graduation by obtaining his crane operator license.  He also plans on continuing volunteering with the Covington Fire Department.
