Varsity Science Olympiad Starts Strong

On Saturday, November 19th, North Pocono's varsity Science Olympiad Team competed in their first invitational of the season at Cornell University. The team placed in the top half in a number of events. As a team they placed the highest ever at this competition with a 9th place finish and 17th place finish out of 35 top teams from across the nation.

Top 10 include
Anatomy & Physiology: 10th place - Dillon Brace and Bailey LaBadie
Astronomy: 6th place - Joe Mizenko and Elizabeth Donovan
Astronomy: 9th place - Travis Corkins and William Havenstrite
Cell Biology: 8th place - Christian Segiel and Kyle Mizenko
Codebusters: 10th place - Hailey Lesh, Noah Beckish, and Marlie DeRenzis
Experimental Design: 10th place - Hailey Lesh, Noah Beckish, and Alexis Charles
Fermi Questions: 2nd place - Noah Beckish and Pete Barbuti
Forensics: 8th place - Christian Segiel and Hope Covage
Forensics: 10th place - Evan Alefantis and Lauren Erickson
Scrambler: 8th place - Hailey Lesh and Joseph DiMattio
Wifi Lab: 7th place - Pete Barbuti and Joseph DiMattio

The team competes again December 17th at Battle of Valley Forge at Conestoga High School.
