North Pocono Middle School issued the following announcement on May 3.
Twelve North Pocono Middle School students competed in the Northeast PA Girls in STEM competition at Valley View High School on Saturday, April 23rd. Our North Pocono students were among close to 50 teams competing from surrounding school districts. Working in teams of three, the girls completed several challenging STEM related tasks. These included, constructing and analyzing experimental data, computer coding challenges, designing and testing a Rube Goldberg Machine, and completing math related challenges.
Marlie DeRenzis, Isabella Palumbo and Isbabella Small Bermudez were awarded 1st place in the Engineering Competition for the success of their Rube Goldberg Machine. Every North Pocono Middle School team took home overall awards for all of the events combined. They were awarded 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places.

3rd place team: Marlie DeRenzis, Isabella Palumbo, Isabella Small Bermudez
4th place team: Demaree Weissman, Caitlyn Gallacher, Maddie Spence
5th place team: Matisse Bahamonde, Joy Beckish, Taylor Igoe
