North Pocono Middle School issued the following announcement on Apr. 8.
Attention former North Pocono Track and Field athletes that participated during the coaching years of the late Walter J. Godek:
Current Track and Field Coordinator, Jason Sepkowski, has invited all former athletes that participated in Track & Field under the guidance of the late North Pocono coach, Walter J. Godek, for a short ceremony to recognize his service and dedication to NP Track & Field on Friday, April 22nd. The school district, NP Boosters, and coaching staff is renaming and dedicating the annual North Pocono Twilight Invitational as the Walter J. Godek Twilight Invitational at North Pocono. The event starts at 5PM and the recognition ceremony will take place at 4:45.
