North Pocono Middle School issued the following announcement on Mar. 4.
Student's in Mrs. Sweeney, Mrs. Bonacci and Mrs. Kirby's class at the High School have been running a Social Skills Snack cart to work on functional communication skills. Students practice these skills to get them ready for life outside of school and eventually prepare them for a career. Skills targeted through the Snack Cart involve math/money tasks, conversational exchange, pragmatic language, and problem solving skills. Best of all, the students really enjoy interacting with the staff and students while working on their goals!
