BLUE MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL: Attendance Procedures for Remote Learning

Procedure

Blue Mountain High School issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.

Students learning remotely must adhere to the following procedures for attendance. This includes students enrolled in the synchronous learning platform, students who are sick but well enough to join classes remotely, and students who are quarantined from school.

Students must log into homeroom prior to 7:50 AM to be marked present in homeroom to avoid a call from the automated message system.

Logging in after 7:50 will result in a tardy.

Students logging in must remain in class for the entire period to receive credit for being in class. 

Students MUST show their face and have their video turned on at all times to be considered present.

Students missing 3-4 classes for the day will receive ½ day absence for the school day.

Students missing 5 or more classes for the school day will be considered absent for the entire day.

Students that do not submit absent notes within three school days of their absence are considered unexcused.

Absent notes may be:

 Dropped off at in the BMHS office

Placed in the Drop box in the BMHS lobby

Emailed to Mr. Spolski at snspolski@bmsd.org 

Any technical issues for logging in to your classes must be accompanied with a Help Desk ticket to the technology department at https://www.bmsd.org/parents-and-students. A Help Desk ticket will make the absence excused.

Please monitor your child’s attendance through the daily email notification or by downloading the PowersSchool App-Parent Portal to receive real-time notifications for attendance in the remote learning platform
