Blue Mountain School District issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
First, the Blue Mountain School District wishes everyone a happy Veterans’ Day and extends a special thank you to all of our veterans for their service and sacrifice to our country.
In an effort to keep our students, parents, and staff informed, we are providing you with this update. Since our last update, we received a report that a high school student tested positive for COVID-19. This student was already in quarantine and did not affect any other students or staff. Yesterday, we were informed that a middle school student was reported as a perceived positive case. This particular situation resulted in eleven students being quarantined for two days after our middle school’s return to in person instruction on Monday, November 16, 2020. Most recently, a Blue Mountain Elementary East staff member tested positive for COVID-19 today. Extensive contact tracing conducted by administration, the nursing department, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health resulted in five staff members and eleven students being placed under quarantine. Finally, BMSD was informed that a positive COVID-19 case outside our district has also required the quarantine of eleven additional students. We will continue to provide you with further updates as needed.
