State representatives and organizations are joining forces to educate senior citizens in Carbon County on how to identify and avoid scams. Representative Doyle Heffley and Senator Dave Argall, both from the Republican Party, will host two informative seminars in collaboration with David P. Shallcross from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

The events are scheduled to take place on February 18, 2025. The first seminar will be held at 10 a.m. at the Lehighton Elderly Apartments, followed by the second session at 1 p.m. at Palmer House. These initiatives are tailored towards residents of these facilities, aiming to provide vital information on recognizing and preventing fraudulent activities.

This collaboration reflects ongoing efforts to protect senior citizens from financial exploitation. “Senior citizens who reside in the Lehighton Elderly Apartments and Palmer House will learn how to avoid the latest scams,” the organizers stated, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding seniors against deception.
