Senator Dave Argall and several state representatives announced on March 13 that they will host a Sportsmen and Outdoor Expo on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbia Hose Fire Company in Shenandoah.
The event is free and open to the public. It is organized by Argall, who represents Pennsylvania’s 29th District, along with Representatives Dane Watro, Tim Twardzik, Jamie Barton, and JoAnne Stehr. The expo aims to bring together vendors and organizations involved in hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor recreation. Attendees will have opportunities to learn about local outdoor activities, connect with community groups and businesses, and explore resources related to Pennsylvania’s sportsmen heritage.
A hunter-trapper education course will be offered at 8 a.m., prior to the main event. Those interested must register in advance through the Pennsylvania Game Commission website. Residents seeking more information are encouraged to contact Argall’s Mahanoy City office.
Argall has provided constituent services through offices across Pennsylvania, assisting residents with state-agency issues and community initiatives according to the official website. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from Lycoming College as well as a doctorate in public administration from Pennsylvania State University according to the official website.
Argall has said he supports working-class communities through legislation focused on revitalizing older industrial neighborhoods as noted on the official website. He has also chaired the Senate Majority Policy Committee where he oversaw legislative hearings on topics such as education funding as noted on the official website. His background includes family roots among Cornish, Welsh, and German farmers, coal miners, and factory workers according to the official website.
The upcoming expo reflects ongoing efforts by local legislators to engage residents with outdoor traditions while supporting community connections.
