State Representative Doyle Heffley will host the annual Family Resources and Addiction Prevention Expo to provide information on local addiction prevention and recovery resources. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carbon Career and Technical Institute, located at 150 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe.

The expo will include an impaired and distracted driving simulator, a mock bedroom display, a prescription drug drop-off box, and participation from state and local vendors. According to organizers, the event is designed to help families better understand available support services.

Heffley stated, “The expo is being held on the same night as Carbon Career and Technical Institute’s annual open house to make it easier for families to attend both events and learn about local education and prevention resources in one convenient location.”
